Guide to VecoCuby Humidifier TWIN-HT3G

Read through the information on the entire webpage carefully so as NOT to damage your humidifier or your properties, or incur personal injuries. Check the Troubleshooting from the Menu above to avoid common problems.

  • If your cloth wicks are pre-installed, click here if the wicks are loose or need adjustment in tension to keep sections of wicks separated from each other.
  • If you order partly installed wicks, the small frame has wicks installed but not the large frame so as to be able to nest two frames together to reduce the shipping cost (~ doubled for fully installed wicks). Carefully remove the small frame from the large frame, wiggle slowly the knots of the installed wicks out of the large frame. Click here if the wicks are loose or need adjustment in tension to keep sections of wicks separated from each other. Two cloth wicks in a plastic bag are provided to be installed by user on the large frame. Click here for cloth wicks installation guide.
  • If you install the cloth wicks yourself, your order comes with two resin-coated stainless steel frames nested to each other, a pack of 4 cloth wicks, and a resin-coated stainless steel pan. Remove packing material and carefully separate the two frames. Two cloth wicks will be installed on each frame. Click here for cloth wicks installation guide.

Pro Tips:

(1) Place the humidifier where there is noticeable air moving, such as near an HVAC outlet, to speed up the evaporation. Set the fan to "ON" (not "AUTO") on your HVAC control unit to increase airflow even when the heating is not on, especially if you live in a townhouse or an apartment which has significantly lower heating duty cycle than a house.

(2) Fill with warm water can boost evaporation for the first two hours.

(3) Maintenance of the cloth wicks: When you notice the evaporative rate is lower significantly, or there are excessive deposits on the wicks, click here.

(4) Small metal parts such as clips and staples, if used in the humidifier (e.g., for fixing self-made wicks or paper towels to the frames, or supporting the frames in a slant position), may become rusty after an extended period. While rust alone does not directly influence the evaporation rate in a significant manner, it may contaminate, discolor or damage your property. To mitigate or prevent this from happening, use plastic types or rustproof metal types.

Important safety instructions

  • Read all instructions before use: Failure to follow all safety warnings and instructions could result in personal injury or property damage.
  • Children and pets: Keep this appliance out of reach of children and pets. Do not allow children to play with the humidifier or its packaging. Deposits on the cloth wicks and the water in the pan, especially if not rinsed for an extended period of time, may contain unsafe levels of chemicals. Do not allow anyone/pet to drink/lick the water in the pan or the wicks.
  • Proper placement: Place the humidifier on a firm, flat and level waterproof surface at least 1 inches away from the walls, furniture, and electrical appliances. Do not place the humidifier near a fire or a fireplace as the wicks may catch fire. Avoid placing the humidifier near the return vent of the HVAC to reduce the risk of water condensation inside the HVAC ducts. Deplete water inside the pan before lifting the pan to avoid splashing water out.
  • Ventilation: Maintain adequate airflow around the humidifier.
  • Indoor use only: This appliance is intended for domestic use only. Do not use it outdoors or for any purpose other than its intended use.

Health and maintenance warnings

  • Monitor humidity levels: Do not allow indoor relative humidity levels to exceed 50%. Excessive humidity can encourage the growth of mold and mildew. If condensation forms on walls or windows, move the humidifier away from the walls or windows or use it intermittently (removing one or both frames from the pan).
  • Cloth wicks maintenance: Click here for maintenance. If microorganism such as algae or mold growth is suspected, use 1:10 to 1:20 diluted bleach to help remove the microorganism. Do not use bleach on paper towels.
