High Throughput Nonelectric Humidifier TWIN-HT2G-NoPan
Sale price  $49.00 Regular price  $65.00

Order now and receive by December! Limited quantity! Limit one per household.

This product includes twin frames and four cloth wicks (all patent pending), and requires the user to provide pan(s), such as baking pans, to form a working humidifier. It serves as a budget option of the High Throughput Nonelectric Humidifier TWIN-HT2G to save the cost. You also help our environment more by using your household spare pans. The twin frames can be used together in a large pan or separately in two smaller pans. If most of the frame extends out of the pan in a tilt position over an HVAC floor outlet/supply vent, a string (not included, with paperclips or other type of clips which may be bent to hook on the frame or the pan) can be used to hold the frame in position. Do not extend the frame too much as it may tip over the pan. The pan should have a minimum internal width of 6.5 inch to allow the installed cloth wicks to be in contact with the water inside the pan.

The centuries-old eco-friendly fabric-based evaporative humidifying is rejuvenated with our patent-pending innovations. With up to 2 gallons/24 hours* and a compact footprint, it overcomes many drawbacks of mainstream humidifiers... For more details, please visit the webpage for TWIN-HT2G.

Guide to Assemble the Humidifier

Read through the information on the entire webpage carefully so as NOT to damage your humidifier or your properties, or incur personal injuries.
  1. Unpack the product

Your order comes with two resin-coated stainless steel frames nested to each other, a pack of 4 cloth wicks, and, if ordered, a resin-coated stainless steel pan. Remove packing material and carefully separate the two frames. Two cloth wicks will be installed on each frame.
  2. Install cloth wicks (1)

Each cloth wick has 4 pairs of strips at each end. Tie the 4 pairs of strips at one end to a middle wire and wrap the cloth wick as shown in the picture (using quick-release knots, similar to tying shoelaces). When tying a pair of strips on the side (the red dots), wrap one strip around the thick frame wire once before forming a knot with the other strip to help stretch out the cloth wick. Do not pull loose threads from a cloth wick, as it may break the wick apart (although it is not necessary, you may cut the loose threads off using scissors).
  3. Install cloth wicks (2)

Continue to wrap the cloth wick as shown in the picture below, and tie loosely the 4 pairs of strips at the other end of the cloth wick to the outermost thin wire. You will need to untie and retie them to adjust the tension on the wick when the wick is wet in the next step. There is a large gap (the green dots in the picture) between the outermost thin wire and the boundary edge where the strips join the main portion of the cloth wick. The gap will be reduced in the next step. Repeat the steps to install all 4 cloth wicks.
  4. Adjust cloth wicks tension

This step should be performed in a waterproof surface (e.g., in a bathtub or a sink) where water will not damage your properties (such as a wood floor or furniture). Each cloth wick is divided into multiple sections between the upper and the lower thin wires. Before adjusting, wet the cloth wicks thoroughly. The cloth wick will become loose or saggy, which may cause neighboring sections of the cloth wicks to stick to each other, reducing evaporation. This step will reduce the likelihood of the sticking of the neighboring sections. Next, GENTLY pull each cloth wick from the central section (one section at a time) toward the outermost thin wire to stretch out the cloth wick, and untie and retie the strips on the outermost thin wire. DO NOT apply too much tension to the cloth wick since it may damage the cloth wick or the frame structure. You may need to repeat the pulling more than once. After the adjustment, the gap (the green dots in the last step's picture) between the outermost thin wire and the boundary edge where the strips join the main portion of the cloth wick will be reduced. If you run out of the gap and still can not apply enough tension, you may extend the strips (forming longer strips) a few millimeters into the main portion of the cloth wick by cutting with a pair of scissors (each pair of strips was precut deeper into the main portion of the cloth wick between the two strips).
  5. Set up the humidifier

Place the humidifier in a desired waterproof location with the installed cloth wicks completely damp. Pour water slowly into the pan to prevent it from splattering out. Prepare a towel to clean up water outside the pan. The pan has a low profile to improve evaporation. Avoid carrying the pan with a significant amount of water inside, as the water may go out of the pan easily. Instead, use a small cup to scoop water into a bucket, or use a towel or a sponge to dry out the water before moving.

Pro Tips

Always read the full instructions before starting.

(1) The cloth wicks will become discolored over time due to the deposition of minerals from water, which is normal. To reduce the deposition, rinse the pan before the water inside dries out, and if feasible, rinse gently the cloth wicks without removing them from the frames (run water gently, no jet stream; or soak in a large tank), then refill the pan.

(2) Place the humidifier where there is noticeable air moving, such as near an HVAC outlet, to speed up the evaporation. If you want to tilt the frames against a floor HVAC outlet/supply vent, but can not stop them from sliding away, you can tie the nearest corners of the frames to the handle slots on the pan using ropes or old shoelaces. Alternatively, you may use a vent deflector to redirect the air flow to the humidifier.

(3) Check your RH meter specifications and calibrate your RH meter at least once a year if necessary, so you don't get too much humidity (some RH meters' readings may go way off after an extended period of use due to the contamination deposit from the air).

(4) Replacement of the cloth wicks: When you notice the evaporation slows down significantly or mold/microorganism growing becomes a concern, it is time to replace the cloth wicks. Untie the old cloth wicks, wash the frames and the pan thoroughly, and install new cloth wicks which can be ordered through our website. Our cloth wicks are not designed to be washable***, nor for uninstallation and reinstallation after initial setup. While you may try to use your own cloth wicks or kitchen paper towels (it is a challenge to use paper towels due to the perforated lines therein, which break easily if too much tension is applied, especially when soaked), you are at your own risks for doing so, and ACH Ecomsimpventive is not liable for any consequence including mental, physical and property impacts or damages arising from such practice.

(5) Small metal parts such as clips and staples, if used in the humidifier (e.g., for fixing self-made wicks or paper towels to the frames, or supporting the frames in a slant position), may become rusty after an extended period. While rust alone does not directly influence the evaporation rate in a significant manner, it may contaminate, discolor or damage your property. To mitigate or prevent this from happening, use plastic types or rustproof metal types. ACH Ecomsimpventive is not liable for any consequence including mental, physical and property impacts or damages arising from any use of user provided parts.

Important safety instructions

  • Read all instructions before use: Failure to follow all safety warnings and instructions could result in personal injury or property damage.
  • Children and pets: Keep this appliance out of reach of children and pets. Do not allow children to play with the humidifier or its packaging.
  • Proper placement: Place the humidifier on a firm, flat, waterproof, and level surface at least 4 inches away from the walls, furniture, and electrical appliances. Do not place the humidifier near a fire or a fireplace as the wicks and the metal coating may catch fire. Avoid placing the humidifier near the return vent of the HVAC to reduce the risk of water condensation inside the HVAC pipes. Deplete water inside the pan before lifting the pan to avoid splashing water out.
  • Ventilation: Maintain adequate airflow around the humidifier.
  • Indoor use only: This appliance is intended for domestic use only. Do not use it outdoors or for any purpose other than its intended use.

Health and maintenance warnings

  • Regular cleaning is essential: Humidifiers can become breeding grounds for mold, bacteria, and other microorganisms. To reduce potential respiratory risks, empty and clean the water pan daily, and if feasible, rinse gently the cloth wicks without removing them from the frames (run water gently, no jet stream; or soak in a large tank), then refill the pan with fresh water. Replace the cloth wicks when growth of mold, bacteria or other microorganisms is significant or becomes a concern.
  • Monitor humidity levels: Do not allow indoor relative humidity levels to exceed 50%. Excessive humidity can encourage the growth of mold and mildew. If condensation forms on walls or windows, move the humidifier away from the walls or windows or use it intermittently (removing one or both frames from the pan).
  • Cloth wicks replacement: replace the cloth wicks when you notice the evaporative rate is significantly lower, or when growth of mold, bacteria or other microorganisms is significant or becomes a concern.

Warranty and liability disclaimers

  • Limited warranty: ACH Ecomsimpventive (hereafter referred to as "the company") warrants (i) the frames and the pan against failures due to defects in materials or workmanship under normal use and maintenance, (ii) unused defective cloth wicks, for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of original purchase. Under this warranty, the company will, at its option, replace the defective part or provide a refund less than or equal to the original purchase price. This warranty does not cover: (1) Damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, improper installation or handling, use of part not purchased from the company such as (a) user-provided pan or other kind of water container, (b) clips or staples of any kind (e.g., to support the pan, the frames or the wicks), (c) self-made cloth wicks and paper towels, unauthorized repairs, commercial use; (2) Incidental or consequential impacts or damages, such as damage, contamination or discoloration to other property; (3) Normal wear and tear; (4) Defects in the coatings of the frames and the pan, and minor defects or loose threads in the cloth wicks not impacting the performance of the humidifier; (5) Minor rusts to the stainless frames or the stainless pan; (6) Specific tilt angles of the frames due to the variations of the skills of individual user and specific application environment. How to make a warranty claim: To initiate a warranty claim within the 30-day period: (1) Gather proof of purchase. You will need a dated sales receipt or other proof of the original purchase. (2) Contact customer service. Reach out to the company [Email Address: support@achecosimpventive.com
] to explain the issue. • "As is" basis: The product is provided "as is," and the company makes no express or implied warranties as to its performance or suitability for a particular purpose, beyond the terms of the limited warranty.
  • Limitation of liability: In no event shall the company be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever arising from the use or misuse of this product. The user assumes all risks associated with its use.
  • Voiding the warranty: Attempting unauthorized repairs, using non-genuine replacement parts, or failing to follow the provided maintenance instructions will void the product's warranty.

* Actual rate varies depending on temperature, RH, air flow speed, etc.

** Evaporation rate may vary depending on fabric types and design. The user assumes all risks associated with the use of self-provided cloth or kitchen paper towels as wicks. Please be advised it is a challenge to use the paper towels due to the perforated lines therein (for most kitchen paper towels), which break easily if too much tension is applied, especially when soaked.

*** Other than rinsing gently only (run water gently, no jet stream; or soak in a large sink, without removing the wicks from the frames), washing the cloth wicks, especially with chemicals such as bleach, hydrogen peroxide, venegar, etc., is discouraged due to potential damages those chemicals may cause to people and properties including the humidifier (the chemicals may also weaken or damge the fibers inside the wicks). The humidifier is not built to prevent such damages from happening. (Although it was observed that a white cloth wick installed on a frame, left outdoors for an extended period to grow molds, was able to return to white color after being treated with diluted bleach, it is not clear whether such a treatment will cause any significant negative consequences.) The company is not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from the aforementioned actions.
